Chelsea

On Saturday afternoon, Chelsea and I met up to go to downtown Birmingham for her Senior Photograph session. Now, this session was going to be like no other: her dad, a fellow photographer, and person who let's just say has some authority over me, was going to be the judge of these photos. No room for error!

So, as I was convincing Chelsea that we should ask a police officer for permission to tresspass on their property (which we did get permission for)... I thought it better that he wasn't there to witness this first hand!

As a photographer, you are always searching for new and different places to shoot... and sometimes they just happen to be inside the Birmingham Police parking lot...

...or in the middle of the street!

Okay, so we were in the middle of the street, but downtown Birmingham had been closed off...
(so it wasn't so bad...)

Anyway, here are some of my favorites from the rest of the session. I've had these vector frames for quite a while, so I decided to try them out tonight. I like them - they are a little different - and yes, a little crazy!

Enjoy...!

100 Days...

I was honored to do a shoot with a family that was celebrating the 100th day of their new son's life with them. In the Chinese culture, the 100th day of life for an infant is very significant. So, after learning about this, I was really excited to do the shoot.

The family was awesome and really, really nice. Everyone came, including Grandma. Now I have to be honest: sometimes it gets a little old singing the same nursery rhymes again and again, but when mom started singing this beautiful Chinese lullaby (well, heck, I guess she could have been singing "Beth sucks" for all I know - but I assume it was a lullaby!?) ... but regardless, it was gorgeous. I actually asked her to sing it again, and she obliged. (Both me and the baby were smiling...!)

:)

Here are some of my favorites from the session...

Enjoy!

I really like this picture - I think this one will probably be making the website in the near future...

This one cracks me up... "The Thinker". ;)
Have a good evening everyone!

The Gates Family

On Saturday, I met up with the Gates Family, and the youngest member of their family: a beautiful lovely little lady who just turned three. The family was genuine, relaxed, and made shooting them a breeze (despite the very hot weather!)

Here are some of my favorites from the session...

Enjoy!

The Favret Family

On Saturday - right after it got done POURING outside - I had the pleasure of meeting the Favret Family for the first time. This family had energy!!!!

It was awesome! So, like every shoot, I start off with a dialog with one of the kids, and I ask about things that they like. Well, this little boy answered with "superheroes!"

And then we progressed into action shots... sooo funny!!!

(Yes, he's airborne)

Then some fun ones....

Then some more action tickling shots... :)

some more calm...
ACTION!!!!

A Daddy-daughter moment...;)

Followed by a beautiful mother daughter moment... (I really like this picture!)

Have a good evening everyone...!

Kate's Senior Pictures

On Thursday of last week, I met up with Kate in downtown Birmingham to do her senior pictures. Kate is an incredible dancer - and really a lot of fun to be around. At one point in the shoot, I told her to dance with a scarf (yes, she looked at me like I was crazy...) but she did it! I really like those series of pictures because you can see her personality come out in the photos. (She's just a lot of fun!)

Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from the session...

Enjoy!

I found another blue background! No, it's not the same location as the last shoot. ;)

Congratulations Mel and Shannon!

On Saturday, two of my closest friends got married.. and you'll never guess who they had shoot the wedding!!?? ;)

Lee was an usher in the wedding... so, my usual second shooter was gone. But Tristan Hall, my assistant, stepped in and did an amazing job! The first and last two pictures were taken by Tristan.

She was an absolutely gorgeous bride...

The cake was very cool - and very good. Although I never got to sample a piece, I heard more than a couple people commenting on how good it was.

I know, I just love this shot - but with the sun and the rays of light coming through the trees, it makes it even better!

A random shot during the ceremony...

Just absolutely totally in love... This is how these guys look most of the time!

Congratulations Mel an Shannon - I am so happy for you both!!!!
